Mushroom Hunting and Identification Excursion

Join us for the last foraging trip of the season at Parc Nature du Lac Jérôme! Come walk amongst the beautiful fall colours, observe mushrooms in their natural environment and enjoy a picnic by the waterfalls. Transportation via bus can be provided if needed, get your tickets here!

Frequently Asked

Do I have to be a Concordia Student to attend your workshops or go on excursions?

No. Membership in the Club is open to all, without restriction on the grounds of national origin, race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, disability, or faculty of study. Everyone is welcome at our events and activities!

 

Do I need to have foraging or identification experience to come on the excursions?

No. Our trips and excursions do not require any previous knowledge of mushroom species or foraging techniques. The student group-leaders will guide you during the excursion and help you identify your forages mushrooms.

Can I participate in your events and workshops as a volunteer?

Yes, absolutely! We always need help running and organizing our events, trips and workshops. We warmly welcoming all contributions to the success of our club. Fill out this form if you interested in volunteering at an upcoming event: Volunteer form 

I found a wild mushroom, is it safe to eat?

No, it is never safe to eat a wild mushroom unless a mushroom identification expert says so. We receive a lot of these request via social media and without a physical inspection, we can not properly identify wild mushrooms

Do I need to pay to attend your events and activities?

No. The Concordia Mycological Society is a not-for-profit student-led organization that is funded by the CSU. No membership fee or direct participation fees are required. In some cases, small donations may be required to cover optional transpiration and nourishment expenses.
